How the Uptree School Partnership Programme supports your students

Here at Uptree, we run a free school partnership programme to support schools with their careers education. We currently partner with over 250 schools from around the UK and are continuously extending our reach.

Read on to find out how we support schools with our careers events and resources - if you have any questions or would like to join your school/college to the programme, please get in touch via schools@uptree.co

Employability Workshops

All our partnership schools benefit from having access to the delivery of assemblies and industry-led employability workshops. Normally, an Uptree member will visit your school and give up-to-date careers information to your students. These workshops are industry focused and contain the latest labour market information.

During the Covid-19 outbreak, we have transferred our employability workshops online. We have made them interactive with polls, a chat function and breakout rooms, to simulate a real classroom environment. This gives students the opportunity to still access labour market information and be able to develop their employability skills during this difficult time.

Careers Curriculum

Partnership schools have access to our outstanding Careers Curriculum. Each unit contains 12 weeks of student-led lessons packed with industry advice. We currently have three units of work: STEM, Professional Services and Employability Skills. Each unit contains industry specific information, sent to us by our employer partners.

These lessons are great to run through during form time or to send to students whilst they are remote learning. All lessons involve research tasks to get your students brainstorming about their future!

Company-Specific Work Experience Days

Our Partnership schools are kept up to date with our latest work experience days and application masterclasses via weekly teacher bulletins.

Students have the opportunity to apply for and attend company specific events that look great on their CVs and LinkedIn. We partner with lots of companies across many different industries, such as Arm, IBM, Ogilvy, Clifford Chance and KPMG. Uptree works with our partner companies to run events tailored for students so that everyone gets the best possible professional networking experience on the day (or online).

At these events, students can find out more about the company and industry they are interested in as well as have the change to network with professionals. This experience is invaluable to Sixth Form/College students and can really help them decide on their future paths and gain connections to help them on their journey.

Company-specific application masterclasses give students the opportunity to learn about upcoming apprenticeships or placements and gain advice on how to complete their applications. During the Covid-19 outbreak, our work experience days are taking place online so that students do not miss out on these experiences.
