What Software & Cyber Security Apprenticeships are available?
1. MBDA Software Engineering Degree Apprentice (Level 6), Bristol - Apply here
On this 4 year scheme you will work towards a BSc Digital & Tech solutions degree at Weston College, Weston-Super-Mare. Study will take place face to face at College 1 day per week. When not at University you will be working across new and existing software products building your overall product knowledge.
What are the entry requirements?
- 5 x GCSES Grade 9 – 4 including: Maths & English Language & a Science / Technology subject (all sciences or IT included)
- 120 UCAS Points achieved through either/or:
- Alevels: 3 x B's (or ABC) including Maths or Computing
- BTEC Lv3 Extended Diploma minimum DDM in Computing / IT related subject
In years 1-3, you will undertake 6 x 6 month placements to give you visibility to each of the departments within Software and expose you to different technologies and development methodologies. In your final year, you will take on a yearlong placement in the department of your choosing, which will run alongside your final year project.
2. MBDA Software Engineering Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6), Stevenage - Apply here
On this 4 year scheme you will work towards a BSc Digital & Tech Solutions Software Engineer degree at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield. When not at University you will be working across new and existing software products building your overall product knowledge.
What are the entry requirements?
- 5 x GCSES Grade 9 - 4 including Maths & English Language & Science / Technology Grade 9 – 4
- 120 UCAS points achieved through either:
- Alevels - 3 x B's (or ABC) including Maths
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma minimum DDM in Maths, Science or Engineering subject (Engineering and Science applicants must provide evidence of completing Further Maths module)
In years 1-3, you will undertake 6 x 6 month placements to give you visibility to each of the departments within Software and expose you to different technologies and development methodologies. In your final year, you will take on a 12 month placement in the department of your choosing, which will run alongside your final year project.
3. MBDA Software Modelling Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6), Stevenage - Apply here
By the end of this 4 year programme, you'll have achieved a BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions Software Engineer at the University of Hertfordshire, through a blend of virtual and face to face learning. This will be completed via day release to university for one day of the week and the rest of your working week will be spent working in your placements.

This is a rotational programme to allow MBDA apprentices to experience various aspects of the function. Working within the various project modelling teams we'll teach you about creating, maintaining and optimising performance modelling software.
