What Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeships & Electrical Engineering Degree Apprenticeships are available?

 

1. MBDA Electrical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6), Stevenage - Apply

MBDA offer a four-year programme within our Customer Support and Services (CSS) Department, studying for a Product Design Electrical BSc at Hatfield University. You will also achieve a Professional qualification through the IMechE, IET or RAeS. Customer Support & Services (CSS) has overall responsibility for the definition, development and delivery of support and service packages for all MBDA products, with the aim of continually being able to meet customers’ requirements. 

What are the entry requirements?

  • 5 x GCSES Grade 9 – 4 Achieved, including: Maths & English Language & a Science/Technology subject Grade 9 – 4 
  • 120 UCAS Points achieved through either/or:
    • Alevels: 3 x B's (or ABC) including Maths AND Physics or Technology or Engineering subject
    • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering minimum DDM including a Distinction in Further Maths module.

By the end of the 4 year CSS Degree Apprenticeship you will become a well-rounded Supportability Engineer equipped with the skills and knowledge, allowing you to be ready to take on your next role within the Company!

 

2MBDA Engineering Degree Apprentice Programme (Level 6), Bolton - Apply

On the Engineering Degree Apprenticeship, you will learn all about MBDA's state of the art manufacturing facility and laboratories whilst studying 1 day a week for a Product Design Mech BSC (Hons) at Bolton University, which will be funded by MBDA. This way of studying allows you to earn an academic and nationally recognised qualification

What are the entry requirements? 

  • 5 x GCSEs including: Maths & English Language & a Science / Technology subject Grade 9 – 4 Achieved
  • 120 UCAS Points, achieved through either/or:
    • Alevels: 3 x B's (or ABC) including Maths AND Physics or a Technology or Engineering subject
    • A BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering, minimum DDM, including a Distinction in Further Maths module.

When you start at the company, the first 3 months will be spent in the training room working towards your IPC practical qualifications. You will then spend the next 3 years working in placements 4 days a week (the other is university day release). In your final year you will do a 12-month-long placement in the area you will ‘graduate’ from the scheme into, as a Manufacturing Engineer.

 

3. MBDA Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6), Stevenage - Apply

The Mechanical Engineering degree apprenticeship is a 4 year course where you will study towards a fully funded Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. You will study for this qualification on a minimum of one day release per week, at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield.

What are the entry requirements? 

  • 5 x GCSES Grade 9 – 4 including Maths & English Language & a Science / Technology subject (all sciences or IT included) Grade 9 – 4
  • 120 UCAS Points achieved through either/or:
    • Alevels: 3 x B's (or ABC) including Maths AND Physics or Technology or Engineering subject
    • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering minimum DDM including a Distinction in Further Maths module.

During your first 2 years you'll benefit from a fixed set of placements, rotating departments to give you a good insight into the basics of Mechanical Engineering and related departments in MBDA. Years 3 and 4 you'll get to pick the placements that you would like to do, as well as have the option to do an 'external' placement in another function or with a supplier/external agency.

 

4. MBDA Environmental Engineering Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6), Stevenage - Apply

The Mechanical Engineering degree apprenticeship within the Environmental Engineering Function, is a 4 year course where you will study towards a fully funded Product Design Mech BSC (Hons). You will study for this qualification on a minimum of one day release per week, at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield.

The entry requirements are: 

  • 5 x GCSES Grade 9 – 4 including: Maths & English Language & a Science / Technology subject
  • 120 UCAS Points achieved through either:
    • Alevels: 3 x B's (or ABC) including Maths AND Physics or Technology or Engineering subject
    • Btec Lv3 Extended Diploma in Engineering minimum DDM including a Distinction in Further Maths module.

During the remainder of the working week you will work within the Environmental Engineering department on rotational placements whilst earning a competitive salary. You will also earn a Professional qualification through the IMechE, IET or RAeS.
