Queren discovers a passion for property
After coming to one of Uptree’s insight events with Europa Capital, a Real Estate investment company, Queren felt inspired. She decided she would enjoy a career in property, and received a place on a work experience week at Europa Capital. She has now received an offer to study Real Estate at Oxford Brookes University.
“Uptree really opened my eyes to my options. I attended the work experience day, where I found out a lot about Europa Capital and very quickly knew I wanted to explore more of what they do. I later did an additional week of work experience with Europa Capital during the summer, which gave me a better understanding of the property sector. This really inspired me and made me want to pursue a career within Real Estate.”
Sakhina becomes a star young lawyer
“My exposure to Clifford Chance began at the FuturesUP EY Insight day, where I met Yasmina Kone and we began to speak about the firm. She encouraged me to apply for their PRIME Work Experience Week. I then attended the Clifford Chance Work Experience Day. This gave me physical, practical and social insight into the firm, its trainees and its style of work.
“One week later, I was able to meet HR staff from Clifford Chance at the amazing Uptree Partner Breakfast, which provided me with an opportunity to be further exposed to the recruitment aspects of the firm. This leads me to the end of May, where I received the amazing news that I had reached the Top 10 Shortlist for ‘The Young Lawyer Of The Year Award’. I cannot begin to explain how excited I am to have been selected amongst hundreds of fantastic young lawyers and remain optimistic to hear back about the Top 3!”
Teyah gets a great apprenticeship
Teyah was interested in careers in tech and professional services. After attending Uptree’s events with KPMG (a huge global accounting firm), Teyah was inspired and decided to apply for a degree apprenticeship at KPMG on their digital programme. She successfully secured a place on the Digital 360 Degree apprenticeship programme, and will be starting at KPMG in September.
