The National Cyber Force (NCF) is a partnership between GCHQ, the Ministry of Defence (MOD), the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl).
Every day, NCF experts work online to stop cyber attacks, protect the UK, and make sure our country stays safe. They help stop serious crime, support the military and keep people and information secure.
You do not have to be a tech genius to join NCF. They need people with all kinds of skills and interests. Whether you are creative, logical or curious about how things work, there could be a role for you.
NCF brings together different people and ideas to solve some of the biggest challenges in the world of cyber.

CyberFirst Bursary Scheme
- Support for up to 4 years
- Earn up to £24,000 (£4,000 per year plus £2,000 for each summer placement)
- Take part in 8-week summer placements with over 100 industry partners
- Open to students with BBB at A-Level (120 UCAS points)
- Apply from September 2025 for August 2026 start
Defence STEM Undergraduate Scheme (DSUS)
- Up to 3 years of support worth up to £51,000
- Covers tuition fees, bursaries and training opportunities
- For any STEM subject at 60+ UK universities
- Guaranteed employment with the Army, Royal Navy, RAF or MOD Civil Service
Army Scholarships and Bursaries
- £3,000 in Year 13 and £6,000 during university
- Apply before March in Year 12
- Includes a four-year service period (including training)
