How uptree works?

One

Sign up and create a profile.

Two

Verified students can follow your company, sign up for events and apply to opportunities. Teachers can view the opportunities to raise awareness in their school.

Three

Once you have a community of students that have engaged with you, easily connect and communicate directly about next steps, events & jobs.

Inspiration

Create an employers page that reaches and engages young people while they are still at school. We then give them the tools they need to find out about your company. You can inspire young people with your company’s aims and projects; where you are based; how many people are employed; what jobs are on offer, and what it is like to work there. Use pictures and videos to give young people clear confidence and understanding in reaching out to you.

Events

Lots of organisations are using insight events to engage and inspire their future workforce, especially amongst under represented groups.
They are a great way to raise awareness of the company and ensure young people understand how to work there in the future.
Our easy to use software has been carefully developed to ensure easy event creation, marketing and management. Making sure that companies get the right amount of interest and confirmed numbers for the day.
An insight event is a great way to show young people what your organisation is about and give them a chance to ask you questions in person.

Opportunities

Young people are really clued up when it comes to technology and social media, why not have an intern manage your social media accounts or write blogs to your network? Perhaps you are running a campaign to engage young people and need our network of young people to help you, setting a project in the community might help you get the reach you need. The National Apprenticeship Levy means more and more companies are taking on 18 year olds and offering apprenticeships and hiring straight from school.

Testimonials

  • As a gallery, we strongly believe in investing time and resources to ensure each internship we offer is of value to the candidate. In providing a comprehensive and honest overview of the gallery business, it often leads us to examine our own environment afresh. Uptree, with their unique application, and selection process, not only initiates the student with a genuine recruitment experience, but also provides us with the most enthusiastic candidates from their extensive network.

  • Working with Uptree over the past academic year has been an excellent experience for our team. We really value the relationships Uptree have with schools and students as this gives us the opportunity to reach people we wouldn't be able to otherwise. We have hosted a number of IBM Insight Days over the past few months which Uptree have sourced attendees for, and we've seen a fantastic mix of students - some of whom know that they want to explore school leaver programmes and some who intend to go to University - and all have said what a great experience it was for them to broaden their awareness of their options.

  • Doors were open for many of us when we left school through our contacts and this highlights the unequal access to work that exists in the UK, Uptree is helping to tackle this problem.

  • There is a lot of pressure on young people to know what they want to do and I don't think that it is matched with the number of opportunities available. It’s a fantastic initiative to give young people a bit of a head start and access to businesses.

  • Having a young person from a local school experience two weeks of asset management was not only rewarding but also very useful. It was a very valuable experience.

  • Uptree is a fantastic resource for pastoral leaders seeking meaningful work experience opportunities for young people. As a result of working with Uptree, a number of our young people have a clearer sense of both the career path they hope to pursue, as well as the academic qualifications needed to ensure they are sufficiently prepared. I cannot commend the work of Uptree highly enough – we need more organisations like Uptree in helping to prepare young people for their future pathways.

  • Uptree has been an invaluable resource for our students to develop a clearer idea of the career options available to them. Students found being able to discuss their options with employers very helpful. They now have a better idea of what paths they want to take in the future and got an insight in different jobs that they had never even heard of before.

  • The most useful part of Uptree was gaining motivation and insight in becoming a lawyer. It’s defiantly something I’m going to be in the future.

  • I can honestly say that the insight day I gained through Uptree was an incredible and rare experience…I learnt so many new things about a company that I always hear about, but never knew what they did…I also learnt about the different options that are out there for higher education other than university.

  • I really benefited from specific examples of work experience and internships with different organisations, as it put it into perspective and made clearer what opportunities are available

  • The reason why I'm registering with Uptree is because I have no family members or contacts for the industries I want to go to, therefore it has been very difficult for me to understand what steps to take next.

  • Uptree has introduced me to different pathways into the world of work and helped me nurture the starting stages of my career. I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given and the insight I have gained from events arranged by the Uptree team.
