London: HFW, Three Day Work Experience in Law In person event

Please note: this is an in-person event and will be hosted at the company's offices. There are 20 spaces available for this event, and all students are welcome to register, regardless of location, although priority will be given to students in the London area. All venues are covid-safe and meet government guidelines of health and safety. If you are allocated a place, you will be sent the company's safety guidelines a week in advance, eg. if masks are to be worn. You will be expected to follow any guidance from the company on the day.

Who are Holman Fenwick Willan?

HFW is a global, sector-focused law firm providing services to businesses across a huge range of industries from aerospaces to insurance. The firm was founded in 1883 and now has over 600 lawyers, including 170 partners, based around the world. They are legal specialists in over 19 fields, from Cyber Security to International Trade, but offer an impressive range of consultancy services as well. 

 

What is the HFW Work Experience Opportunity?

HFW are running a three day work experience programme from their London office, from the 25-27th October 2021. It's a fantastic opportunity for students who are interested in studying law in the future to gain insight into the workings of a top law-firm.

Tuesday 26th October

Wednesday 27 th October

13:30-15:00 Networking lunch

Details of which session will happen on what day are TBC, but sessions will run with participation from the
following teams:

  • Shipping
  • Aerospace
  • Commodities


Sessions will explore how HFW teams work with their clients to address issues that impact all of us, such as
Climate Change, Diversity; Inclusion, Modern Slavery, and Human Trafficking . Other sessions will include the chance to meet people from a range of different teams across the firm to learn more about some of the roles and career paths available in the legal profession. Lastly, there will be some sessions specifically aiming to give you some of the insight into career paths and a session giving a taste of some of the skills you'll need.

 

Who Can Apply?

Year 12 & 13 students from the London area who are interested in a career in law, or are interested in finding out more about careers in law. 

This programme will be great for students who are:

-  Register for this work experience opportunity via your Uptree account - there are only 20 spaces available, so register early to increase your chances of being selected. 

- Priority will be given to those students who meet the criteria listed above.

- Prioritisation will begin 2 weeks before the event date; if you register after this time, you might not receive a response from Uptree. 

- Successful applicants will receive an invitation 1-2 weeks before the event date.

-  If you have not heard from us 7 days before the event date, your application is, unfortunately, unsuccessful for this event.
