The Civil Service serves the government of the day and supports them to develop and implement its policies as effectively as possible.
The Civil Service is an integral and key part of the government of the United Kingdom. It supports the government of the day in developing and implementing its policies, and in delivering public services. Civil servants are accountable to ministers, who in turn are accountable to Parliament.
Departments of the Civil Service include:
- Cabinet Office
- The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS)
- Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (dstl)
- Department for Education
- HM Revenue & Customs
- Home Office
- Ministry of Defence
The Government’s Agencies are responsible for operating in and through cyberspace to counter threats, disrupting and contesting those who would do harm to the UK and its allies, to keep the country safe and to protect and promote the UK’s interests at home and abroad.
Working in cyber provides you with the chance to use your skills to their full potential and play your part in keeping the country safe. The Government’s Agencies need both technical and non-technical people, with both providing their own individual knowledge and experience.
By joining this Insight event, you'll learn how the people in the Intelligence Agencies keep our forces safe, prevent terrorism and crime, and protect against cyber attacks
