National: UK's Intelligence Agencies, Virtual Insight Session Online event
This event is for Year 12 and 13, college and gap year students with an interest in STEM, looking for Early Careers opportunties e.g. apprenticeships, junior development programmes etc.

The UK Intelligence Agencies, MI5, MI6 and GCHQ, work together to keep the country safe. Their highly trained staff use cutting edge techniques to uncover and stop plans to harm our people, buildings and computer systems, both in the UK and around the world.
Whilst all three Agencies have the same mission, each Agency has a different set of tools they can use and each one focuses on a slightly different area. MI5 stops threats from inside the UK, MI6 protects our people overseas and GCHQ looks after our Cyber security. It’s incredibly important work, although most people will never know what they do.

Fine print
This event will happen in person at the company’s office. Because the event is being run with a UK government intelligence agency, we can’t tell you the exact address unless you’re chosen to take part. If you are selected, we’ll share the location with you, and it’s important to check it before you travel so you can get there safely.
Your personal Information
When you apply for this event, we use the information you give us to check if you meet the requirements set by the employer. If your application is successful, we will share your first name, last name, and your parent or guardian’s mobile number with the employer. We may also include any dietary or medical information you choose to share during your application to help keep you safe.
We use this information to make sure the event is safe and runs smoothly. All the information we share with the employer is sent securely in protected files and deleted after the event is over.
If the employer needs any extra information about you, we will always ask for your clear permission first. This means you must say ’yes’ before we share anything.
No photos or videos allowed
Because this event involves a government intelligence agency, you’re not allowed to take any photos, videos, or recordings. This includes using your phone. You also can’t take pictures of the building, the staff, or the other students. This is to help protect the secret and important work the agency does. By signing up for this event with Uptree, you are acknowledging you understand this request.
Keeping things private
After the event, you must not talk about the agency by name or share any details about the event online (like on Instagram, TikTok, etc.) or with people who didn’t attend. This rule is very important. Breaking it could affect your chances of working with agencies like this in the future—and could even put people at risk.
Because of this, we won’t give out certificates for attending like we do for other Uptree events. But if you want, you can say that you joined an event with “Uptree and the UK Government Intelligence Agency” on your CV or job applications.
Sharing feedback
After every Uptree event, we ask for feedback through a short, anonymous survey. This helps us improve our events and services. Your feedback will always stay anonymous—this means no one will know it was you who gave the feedback. We might also share the feedback with the employer who hosted the event so they can make their events better.
By filling out the feedback form, you’re giving Uptree permission to use your comments and share them with the employer, but your name will never be included unless we obtain your permission in writing. If you would prefer not to share your feedback, then that is absolutely fine and will not affect your ability to participate in Uptree events, just let your Event Host know on the day.
