Location: Gloucester (Gloucester College / UWE Bristol)
Start Date: Summer 2026
Application Criteria:
- Five GCSEs (grades 4–9/A*–C), including English and Maths
- 112 UCAS points from three A-Levels or equivalent BTECs (excluding General Studies)
- IT-related A-Level or evidence of software/programming ability
- Willingness to travel across the UK
- Must meet Baseline Personnel Security Standard

About the opportunity
This degree apprenticeship lets students earn a salary while studying for a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions degree via the Software Engineering pathway. Learning is through block release at Gloucester College in partnership with UWE Bristol, with the rest of the time spent working on real projects at CGI over four years.
Apprentices will contribute to mission-critical projects in software, cybersecurity, cloud, and space systems, gaining hands-on experience and professional skills.
Main responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and testing technical solutions for live projects
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve real-world challenges
- Exploring and applying emerging technologies in cyber, cloud, space, and mission systems
- Supporting secure systems that underpin the UK’s national infrastructure
- Participating in early careers initiatives and contributing ideas beyond day-to-day work
As CGI is a consultancy, flexibility and a willingness to travel to different project locations may be required.
