Overview
GSK is looking for Cyber Security Technologist (Tech) Apprentices to join their team at GSK House, Brentford in West London. The Role and qualification
Your apprenticeship will be with the Consumer Healthcare Tech team, based at our GSK House site in Brentford. GSK House is our head office based in Brentford, near Kew Gardens. Currently the facilities and access to GSK House are limited due to Covid-19. The expectation is that the apprenticeship will be started on a remote basis.
On the 2-year programme you’ll receive tailored on-the-job training from industry experts from day one combined with early responsibility to help you to develop and progress your career in the crucial arena of cyber security.
You’ll be working towards the Cyber Security Technologist – Cyber Risk Analyst Level 4 qualification with The Apprentice and Training Partnership (The ATP) (our provider may be subject to change). Learning through The ATP, you will attend weekly live, interactive, virtual lessons of between 90 and 120 mins, with other learners in groups of up to 12.
If you are offered a role, you will have a buddy or a mentor who will help you to prepare for joining GSK and will be there to offer support and guidance throughout your apprenticeship. You’ll also receive a mentor through The ATP to support your learning.
Working with both your line and programme manager we want to identify the right opportunities to help you succeed in the short term and throughout your career with us.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship you’ll be qualified to take on a role as a Cyber Security Specialist, a Governance and Compliance Analyst, a Cyber Risk Analyst or many other roles within the Cyber Security discipline.
What your day to day might look like:

Combining research and practical exploration to determine system vulnerabilities

Analyse and evaluate security threats and hazards to GSK’s systems, services and processes

Undertake security risk assessments and provide remediation advice

Identify anomalies in network data structures and behaviours
-
Determine mitigation or security controls including technical, implementation and policy or process controls
Requirements

Must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSE (or equivalent) at grades 5 or higher which must include English Language (not literature) and Maths at grade 5 or above.

Must also have/be predicted to achieve a minimum of 96 UCAS points from your top 3 A levels or equivalent (not including General Studies).
