Overview

Location: Barnard Castle.

Start date: September 2024.

Application criteria:

  • English Language (not Literature) GCSE at grade 4 or above.  

  • Plus 4 additional GCSEs including Maths and a Science at grade 5 or above. 

  • Must be able to commute to either the GSK Barnard Castle site or South Durham Training

GSK consider your entry qualifications and support the next level of academic study where possible, e.g. if you have completed or are already completing a relevant level 3 qualification they may be able to progress you straight to HNC.

Starting salary: £17,500 increasing to £23,800 / year after 1 year + annual bonus based on company performance.

About the Engineering Apprenticeship

This GSK apprenticeship lasts up to four years and gives you the chance to earn while you learn. You'll work towards a level 3 Science Maintenance Technician qualification.

This Apprenticeship is based at GSK's Barnard Castle site in the North-East.

As a multi-skilled engineering apprentice at GSK Barnard Castle, you will develop practical mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control & automation skills which will enable you to become a key member of their engineering team - maintaining and improving the equipment and facilities that manufacture life-saving treatments for GSK patients.

You will also attend college where you will work towards nationally recognised qualifications(including BTEC and HNC).
