About the Programme

JLL’s 12-month Building Surveying Placement gives you the opportunity to work alongside expert Building Surveyors and gain real-world experience in the property and real estate industry. Exceptional performance during your placement may lead to an invitation to interview for JLL’s graduate scheme the following year.

You’ll get involved in a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Visiting sites to complete inspections
  • Conducting desktop survey research on properties
  • Preparing detailed reports following inspections
  • Acting as a Contract Administrator and Employer’s Agent on fit-out and refurbishment contracts
  • Negotiating schedules of dilapidations and planning exit strategies for required repair work
  • Helping with preventative maintenance plans and portfolio coordination
  • Keeping up-to-date with building, sustainability, and legal standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • GCSEs – Minimum grade C/4 in English and Maths (or Scottish equivalent: National 5 grade B or above)
  • Currently undertaking a bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying with an industrial placement year
  • On track to achieve a 2:1 or above
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Project management skills and ability to prioritise work
  • Curious, motivated and keen to contribute ideas
  • Right to work in the UK with no restrictions

Salary & Benefits

  • Estimated salary: £25,207 (subject to individual circumstances)
