About the opportunity
Schroders’ two-year apprenticeship programme give school and college leavers a hands-on introduction to investment management and the opportunity to develop key skills, gain professional qualifications and build an industry network. We have a wide range of opportunities across their business.
On this programme, you’ll be part of the Group Governance team — the function that helps ensure decisions across the organisation are made in a transparent, well‑informed and accountable way. At its core, governance is about enabling groups of people to make the right decisions.
You will be part of a relatively modestly sized function with the opportunity to be involved in a variety of tasks. You will also gain an understanding of the legislative requirements for the Group. Some of the projects you might be involved in include:
- Researching governance topics, such as changes to law and regulations.
- Drafting board papers, taking minutes and investment trust annual reports, responding to audit requests, with support.
- Drafting and releasing stock exchange announcements for investment trusts.
- Organising meetings and agenda setting, building board packs, preparing and circulating documentation.
- Assisting with the preparation for the Schroders plc Annual General Meeting.
- Preparation of micro-entity accounts.
- Liaising with teams across the business on answering routine queries.
- Supporting strategic change across the business, including acquisitions and sales of group businesses.
