Overview:

Location: London

Start date1 August 2022

Application Criteria: Year 12 or 13 student in the London area with an interest in law, enthusiastic and committed to completing work experience within financial services. Able to attend the full week GCSE level 4 (c) Maths and English and be studying towards achieving A level or equivalent.

Key skills: Ability to travel to the London office independently (next to Liverpool Street station). Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Zoom applications.

About the Legal Internship:

Shawbrook have an opportunity for 2 paid internships for Year 12 or 13 students from the London area with an interest in law, committed to completing 1 week’s work experience for a full week from 1st - 5th August (inclusive).

  • Spend a week working within the in-house legal team of Shawbrook in London, including a day of work experience at law firm Shoosmiths LLP.
  • Attend training sessions run by the Shawbrook legal team on legal issues affecting the business and career journeys into Law.
  • Attend internal and external meetings on a range of topics with legal staff.
  • A day of sessions and meetings at Shoosmiths LLP to gain insight into working in a private practice setting as well as equipping students with softer skills for the world of work.
  • Engage in various practical tasks and presentations within the Shawbrook in house Legal team.

Additional benefits:
