Uptree Success Story: A degree-apprenticeship with TD Securities

Alimat is an Automation Architect degree-apprentice at TD Securities . This means that over the course of four years, she will complete a mix of on-campus residentials, e-learning and real-world projects with TD. At the end, she will have specialised in either data analysis, cyber security, software engineering, business analysis or IT consultancy, all of which lead onto a fulfilling, lucrative career.

In an early role in the company, Alimat worked as a database administrator in the Infrastructure Team which she says is a constantly changing environment. This was exciting because she got to work on whatever was most urgent at the time so she was involved in several project.

Whilst at school, Alimat used to create websites and was focused on making the interface as efficient as possible to give a great user experience. Her particular interest was in the games worlds as she wanted more elements to control.

We asked Alimat for her advice for future students. She said,

"Don’t be afraid of change and failure. This is the perfect time to make mistakes. So long as you're always trying your best you'll grow in ways you'll never expect."
