The proof behind the purpose:

Every £1 invested with Uptree creates £1.87 to £3.16 in social value

When employers open doors, value follows.

Uptree's 2024/25 Annual Social Value report

There is no shortage of talented young people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds who are capable of thriving in professional environments. What has historically been in short supply is access. Access to networks and employers willing to open doors can change a student’s career trajectory.

Uptree exists to close that gap. The employers who work with us are already generating more impact than they may realise.

Uptree has released its latest social value report, quantifying the impact created through its employer partnerships in the 2024/2025 academic year to help employers quantify the impact of social mobility.

The report marks the first time Uptree has measured its work using a published social value framework, with all figures calculated through MeasureUp, aligned with HM Treasury Green Book guidance.

In 2024/2025, Uptree's employer partnerships generated between £1.77 million and £3 million in social value, equating to between £1.87 and £3.16 in social benefit for every £1 invested by employers.

Key stats

  • £1.77m to £3m total social value generated through Uptree partnerships

  • £1.87 to £3.16 social value created for every £1 invested by employers

  • 3,633 students gained real experiences of work, in person and online

  • 143 students secured apprenticeships, roles, internships or placements

  • £170 to £227 social value generated per attendee at an in-person Insight Day

Value created where it matters most

Social value isn't just about how much. It's about who. Across our 2024/2025 experiences of work:

  • 48% of students were eligible for free school meals
  • 65% would be the first in their family to attend university
  • 79% came from minoritised ethnic backgrounds
  • 52% are female students

We focus our outreach on the schools and communities where opportunity is hardest to come by, so the doors employers open reach the young people who need them most.

Calculated using the MeasureUp framework, Bronze level, 2023 prices, with conservative impact discounts applied. Aligned to HM Treasury Green Book guidance. Full methodology in the report.

  • Uptree gave me the exposure, guidance and belief I needed to approach applications and interviews with confidence - ultimately playing a huge role in securing my apprenticeship. Glory, Audit Associate at KPMG
