Uptree Success Story: Securing a degree-apprenticeship with KPMG

The KPMG degree-apprenticeships are highly-quality, innovative programmes, combining opportunities to work with, and learn from, some of the brightest people in the business world whilst providing high level academic study at university.

And, as you would imagine, they are competitive!

We interviewed Teyah who went through the challenging application process and was successful.

Prior to securing a place on KPMG’s 360° Digital Degree Apprenticeship programme , Teyah built her confidence and skills by attending over 15 work experience days with Uptree. These days gave her a professional understanding of different career paths and industries which all helped in her final decision.

She told us,

"...I'm so grateful to Uptree for introducing alternative post-18 pathways. Thanks to their help and support with events such as an Application Masterclass and company insight days, I’ve been able to progress through a variety of recruitment processes, and will be starting my job as an apprentice after I complete my A Levels."

Teyah is an example of how perseverance and open-mindedness is so vital in navigating the options available to you as students after leaving school. Teyah was willing to try new things outside of her comfort zone and continue on even when she was not successful at first. She added,

“Uptree provided me with the chance to meet and network with a lot of professionals. It made me completely change my plans from wanting to study at university to applying to a range of apprenticeships with global companies.”

Your possibilities after leaving school are more varied than ever before so we encourage you to enjoy looking at your different pathways before making your final decision - you never know where you will end up. Good luck from us!
