Bridgwater: EDF, Sustainability, Site Tour and Work Experience Day In person event

Interested in a career in Science or Sustainability but not sure where to start? Then this could be an event for you. Hinkley Point C is the world leading project based in the South West, focused on sustainable, nuclear energy production, lead by Energy company EDF. 

The £4.1 billion project is the first of it's kind in the UK, and it's vital for the fight against climate change and the UK's energy crisis. Did you also know EDF Energy has trained 922 apprentices to date? They work on projects including creating new habitats for wildlife around the site, low carbon electricity production, reduction of diesel use plus much more!

EDF have opportunities in a huge range of roles no matter what your skill level. By taking part in this Work Experience Day, you'll have the chance to meet and talk to some of the team, whilst gaining an inside understanding into how EDF Energy operate and the incredible work they do!

  • Welcome and icebreaker, meet other young people attending the day

At Hinkley Point C, EDF Energy are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain, providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes.

Next steps

  • Register for this in-person event using your Uptree account. If you do not have an Uptree account, register here.
  • There are only 30 spaces available for this event - priority will be given to students in the South-West who meet the criteria above.
  • Prioritisation will begin two weeks before the event; successful applicants will receive an invitation 1-2 weeks before the event. If you register after this time, you might not receive a response.
  • Please note that students will need to bring some form of ID with them.

This is an in-person event and will be hosted at the company's offices. All venues are covid-safe and meet government guidelines of health and safety. If you are allocated a place, you will be sent the company's safety guidelines a week in advance, eg. if masks are to be worn. You will be expected to follow any guidance from the company on the day.
