National: KPMG One+1 Social Mobility Work Placement (2024/2025) In person event
This event is for students who will be aged 16-17 at the time of their placements, are interested in learning more about KPMG and want to explore working in audit, tax, deal advisory, business support, technology, law and/or consulting.
Note: Dates, lengths, business areas and locations of placements will vary throughout the year, depending on KPMG business needs (we know the map says London, but we will have placements throughout other regions, including Scotland!).
What is KPMG One+1?
KPMG have been committed to improving social mobility for over a decade and are extremely proud to be leading in this space.
Their One+1 Social Mobility Programme offers a work placement to one student who does not have a personal connection to KPMG every time the company agrees to host a contact of a KPMG employee.
This is a unique opportunity to gain individual experience at KPMG and to see what it's really like to work at one of the world's top professional services firms.
How it works
The One+1 Social Mobility Programme provides work shadowing between 1-5 days across various KPMG office locations and throughout different areas of their business.
Most placements will include up to 2 students + 1 KPMG host but this can vary depending on programme dates, host schedules and local office capacities.
Students will be offered places according to their locations and the business areas they are interested in, for example audit, tax, deal advisory, business support, technology, law or consulting. Find out more information about these business areas here.
Dates, lengths, business areas and locations of placements will vary throughout the year, depending on KPMG business needs. Uptree will contact students who meet the below criteria when dates are set by KPMG, and eligible students will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis.
Note: There is no event on 29th August, 2025 - this is a placeholder date for sign up purposes. Specific dates and locations of each placement will be confirmed by Uptree directly with successful students, although 29/08/25 is what will show in your Uptree profile if you secure a space on this programme.
By applying to this opportunity you will be registering your interest in the KPMG One+1 Social Mobility Programme and will be contacted by Uptree when a placement is being offered in your location and preferred business area.

Personal information
When you apply for this event, we use the information you give us to check if you meet the requirements set by the employer. If your application is successful, we will share your first name, last name, and your parent or guardian’s mobile number with the employer. We may also include any dietary or medical information you choose to share during your application to help keep you safe.
We use this information to make sure the event is safe and runs smoothly. All the information we share with the employer is sent securely in protected files and deleted after the event is over.
If the employer needs any extra information about you, we will always ask for your clear permission first. This means you must say ‘yes’ before we share anything.
Photography and videography consent
At any Uptree event, including online ones using video conferencing, we and the employer hosting the event might take photos or videos to share in marketing materials. This means the pictures or videos could appear on our website, social media, in press releases, or other places to help more people learn about Uptree. We might also share these photos with the employer hosting the event, so they can use them too.
By signing up for an event with Uptree, you are giving us and the employer permission to take and use photos of you. If you don’t want us to take photos of you, please email us with your name and the event name at educationteam@uptree.co.
If you’d like to share your experience on LinkedIn or other social media, you’re welcome to take photos at the in-person events! Just make sure to be professional, ask permission before taking pictures of other people or employer volunteers, and only take photos at appropriate times so you don’t interrupt the event.
For online events, screenshots aren’t ever allowed. This helps keep everyone’s privacy safe, which is really important. Don’t worry—after the event, we’ll send out some great photos that you can share on social media. We’ll make sure everyone in the pictures is happy to be included!
Marketing and feedback consent
After every Uptree event, we ask for feedback through a short, anonymous survey. This helps us improve our events and services. Sometimes, we also use the feedback in our marketing, which means your comments might appear on our website, social media, or in press releases to help people learn about Uptree.
Your feedback will always stay anonymous—this means no one will know it was you who gave the feedback. We might also share the feedback with the employer who hosted the event so they can make their events better and use it in their own marketing.
By filling out the feedback form, you’re giving Uptree permission to use your comments and share them with employers, but your name will never be included unless we obtain your permission in writing. If you would prefer not to share your feedback, then that is absolutely fine and will not affect your ability to participate in Uptree events, just let your Event Host know on the day.
