Manchester: NCF Cyber Board Work Experience In person event

This event is for: Year 12 and 13, college and gap year students interested in a career in Cyber with the National Cyber Force and looking at Early Careers programmes.

Please read the information on Cyber roles below and be aware that GCHQ are running events in February, focused on the role of an Analyst and in October, focused the role of a Software Engineer.- apply for the event that best matches your interests and skills.

By joining this Work Experience Day, you’ll learn about the National Cyber Force (NCF) – a Partnership between Defence & Intelligence – and its role in helping to keep cyberspace, and our country safe. This includes carrying out responsible cyber operations to help prevent threats from other countries, and disrupting terrorists and serious criminals.

At this event you will:

·       Learn about the National Cyber Force: Gain insights into the National Cyber Force and their Partner Organisations (GCHQ, Ministry of Defence, Secret Intelligence Service and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory) and our commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.

·       Play our Cyber Board Game: Immerse yourself in the thrilling world of our Cyber Board Game. Test your skills as a cyber agent and learn how cyber operations are carried out.

·       Explore Early Career Opportunities: Discover the varied Early Careers opportunities available within our Partner Organisations.

·       Learn about Vetting: Learn about the Developed Vetting process which all individuals working for NCF and our Partner Organisations must go through.

Fine print

Due to the regulations and security measures at GCHQ, anyone interested in attending an event with the organisation must be a British citizen. Photographic identification will be checked on the day of the event by a member of GCHQ staff. Uptree will also need to send your date of birth ahead of you attending the event. This information will be sent securely and only used for this event.

This is an in-person event and will be hosted at the company's offices. All venues are covid-safe and meet government guidelines of health and safety. If you are allocated a place, you will be sent the company's safety guidelines a week in advance, eg. if masks are to be worn. You will be expected to follow any guidance from the company on the day.
