About the Engineering Apprenticeship

This can be up to a four-year programme where you'll combine on-the-job learning with a programme of training and development.

In the first year, you’ll spend a large proportion of your time at college, studying theory elements of the apprenticeship and gaining some practical hands-on experience. In subsequent years, you’ll continue at college while learning new skills as part of an engineering team.

You’ll receive tailored on-the-job training, combined with early responsibility to help you develop and progress. You’ll be working towards nationally recognised qualifications. You will also be assigned a buddy or a mentor who will be there to offer support and guidance throughout your apprenticeship.

Engineers at GSK are responsible for designing, maintaining and improving GSK's leading-edge manufacturing facilities that deliver life-saving treatments.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, it is possible to secure a permanent role in GSK and continue to contribute to their mission. The large majority of their apprentices find permanent roles with them.

The base salary for this apprenticeship is £14,000, rising to £19,500 after the first year.
