The Pinsent Masons Legal Summer Work Experience programme offers the perfect way to find out if a legal career is the right choice for you!

If you are successful in securing a place, you will join Pinsent Masons on a 5-day paid work placement in one of their offices, and you’ll get a full overview of what it’s like to work in a leading commercial law firm. You’ll get valuable experience and discover for yourself what law in practice is really like. What’s more, the experience will give your CV a real boost!

The summer work experience programme is a great way to get an insight into the commercial world and develop your skill-set. This programme is designed by the firm, so you’ll work with – and learn from – some of their top people. And they've aimed to make it interesting, informative and fun. If successful, you won’t be alone, Pinsent Masons always have a group of work experience candidates in each of their offices so you will have peers to share your journey with.  

Here’s what you can look forward to:

• A supervisor who will help you discover the skills you'll need to be a successful lawyer.
• Work shadowing within our legal teams.
• Contributing to a business group exercise.
• Attending engaging presentations.
• Going over CV & Application tips and discussing your career plans with your supervisor.

In order to be eligible for this programme you should:

• Be at least 16 years old at the time of placement.
• Have completed your GCSE's, National 5's, or other local equivalent.
• Currently studying towards your A-levels, Highers, or local equivalent.

Top tips to apply:

You’ll need to do some research to answer some of the questions on the application form. This is your chance to make a positive impression, so take your time and double-check everything before submitting it. Pinsent Masons review all the applications after the closing date and have designed the process ensure you'll know the outcome within 6 weeks of the application deadline.

You will need to be able to prove your right to work in the UK and will be asked to provide original documentation prior to commencement (e.g. a passport or birth certificate and written proof of your national insurance number).
