Schroders’ Apprenticeship programme is your chance to gain 2 years, paid work experience. If you’ve just finished your A-levels or your BTECs then this programme provides you with a chance to explore the world of work.

Location: London

Start date: 2nd September 2024

Application criteria: 

• You must be 18 years old by 2 September to apply for the 2024 intake
• You must have gained A-levels (or equivalent) in any subjects – no minimum UCAS point required 
• Must achieve a level 2 in both English and maths (i.e. a GSCE grade A* to C (or 9 to 4)) or equivalent 
• At the start of your new apprenticeship, it is important that you are not currently enrolled in another funded apprenticeship or any other funded further education or higher education program.

Please note that funding for a repeated qualification is not available

About the opportunity

You'll be part of Schroders newly created Solutions division who work on creating new investment solutions. Their job is to build bespoke portfolios and work with their global clients to understand the investment challenges they face.  

As an apprentice, you will spend 20% of your time working towards achieving your qualification the rest of your time will be spent working with your team and gaining the skills you need to build your expertise.

You will be placed in one of the following areas within our Solutions business:

• Consulting: responsible for delivering investment advice to over 100 clients. Tasks could include: 

          - Preparing written materials for clients, including advice and training

          - Dealing with ad-hoc client queries

          - Designing a long-term investment strategy

• Derivatives: made of actuarial, pension and market specialists that have a wide knowledge of financial markets and of pension schemes. Tasks could include: 

          - Model trades and execute them in the market

          - Modelling pension liability cash flows to understand their risks

          - Designing a liability matching portfolio

Salary £24,000 pa
